Position Title: Business Analyst

Summary:

Responsible for the design, development, coding, testing, debugging and documentation of applications to satisfy the requirements of one or more user areas. May include hands-on new development as well as support, maintenance or enhancement of existing applications. Works closely with client management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and makes recommendations. Skills: - Mainframe Application Development - Business Analyst - Data Analysis Responsibilities : Reviews Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, and Test Cases to understand the functional and technical requirements in order to test the application and verify those requirements are successfully met. Executes test scripts and documents defects for test scripts where the actual results do not successfully meet expected results. Creates detailed test cases and scripts, works with Business Analyst to determine requirements are captured correctly. The person filling this position will be responsible for various reporting functions in support of the applications Qualifications: . College degree preferred . Minimum 5 years experience as a Business Analyst in a mainframe environment . Must be proficient with mainframe analysis tools such as Easytrieve, FileAid, DB2 FileAid, SQL . Advanced knowledge of Mercury Quality Center to include script creation and organization, execution, and defect logging is required . Strong proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Office products . Experience creating test plans and coordination of user acceptance testing . Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment . Proficiency in planning, organizing and managing multiple tasks/priorities; may be required to work on multiple projects at the same time . Excellent written/verbal communication skills are critical . Strong analytical skills to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications, and writing queries for use in test execution
